Please, there’s nothing remotely weird about a grown ass man falling in love with an infant as long as he promises to hold off on acting out on his ~feelings~ until she’s physically mature!
Right?
Like I said, I’ve seen it many times as a trope in fantasy or romance novels, but always between two adults. When you throw in a situation where the bonding or “imprinting” (and what the hell, is he a baby duck? a baby chicken? some sort of fowl?) is between two parties that are not morally or legally allowed to be together…
IT’S JUST WEIRD.
I really think it was added as a plot device because she backed herself into a corner. Maybe not? I haven’t read the books, so maybe it’s explained better in them. But it sure seems like that’s the reason for its inclusion. Because…I mean, who would include that otherwise?
Ugh ugh ugh.
